Birmingham: Mother And Daughter Found Dead

Detectives are investigating the unexplained deaths of two women whose bodies were found after neighbours raised concerns for their welfare.

West Midlands Police said a 95-year-old woman and her 64-year-old daughter were both pronounced dead after the emergency services forced entry to a terraced house in the Kings Heath area of Birmingham.

Detective Inspector Pete Dunn, of West Midlands Police CID, said: "Neighbours contacted police out of concern that neither woman had been seen for some time.

"They could see the fire was on through the window, but weren't getting an answer at the door.

"The women are yet to be formally identified and efforts are ongoing to trace their next of kin.

"The cause of their deaths has yet to be established and a post-mortem will be carried out in due course."

Anyone with information about the women should call the police on 101.
