Police probe Staffordshire smash that put five boys aged 14 to 16 in hospital
Police are investigating a Staffordshire smash that left five teenage boys in hospital. The force believes the lads, aged between 14 and 16, were all in a Nissan Micra that was in collision with a Land Rover.
As reported by StokeonTrentLive five ambulances were sent to the collision in Enville yesterday evening where paramedics treated a total of eight patients. Now Staffordshire Police are appealing for witnesses over the smash which left one of the teens with 'life-threatening injuries'.
Police, firefighters and paramedics were called to the scene on Highgate Common at around 6.30pm on October 17. West Midlands Ambulance Service sent five ambulances, three paramedic officers, a Hazardous Area Response Team (HART), two BASICS emergency doctors and the Critical Care Car to the scene.

On arrival crews found a Nissan Micra and a Land Rover Discovery had been involved in a collision. Cops believe all five boys were in the Nissan - with one needing to be freed by firefighters. The occupants from the Land Rover were able to be discharged at the scene having suffered 'minor injuries'.
A spokeswoman for the ambulance service said: "On arrival crews discovered eight patients, five of whom were male teenagers, all from the same car. One of them was treated for life-threatening injuries, whilst a second was treated for serious injuries. Both were then conveyed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital. Two were treated for serious injuries before being conveyed to Birmingham Children's Hospital, whilst the final teenager was taken to New Cross Hospital after receiving treatment for potentially serious injuries. There were three patients from the second car, two women and a man, all of whom were treated for minor injuries and discharged at the scene."
A police spokesman said: "We’re keen to speak to anyone who saw what happened or those with information that can help us with our investigation."
Witnesses should call the police on 101 and quote incident number 553 of October 17.
