Police probe 'unexplained' death of teenage boy at Shetland home

Police are probing the death of a teenage boy at a home in Shetland.

Emergency services were called to a property in the Gulberwick area after the alarm was raised at around 10.45pm on Saturday.

Ambulance crews attended but the 16-year-old sadly passed away.

Officers from Police Scotland say the death is being treated as "unexplained". Enquiries are ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 10.45pm on Saturday, September 14, 2024 we were made aware of the sudden death of a 16-year-old male youth at a property in the Gulberwick area of Shetland.

“The death is being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing.”
