Police ramp up search for missing Gainsborough woman who's not been seen for almost 48 hours
Police have extended the search for a missing Lincolnshire woman to focus on woodland and the surrounding countryside. Penny, of Gainsborough, was last seen in the East Ferry area at 8.30pm on Tuesday, January 14.
Officers are carrying out searches of the local area by foot, vehicle patrol and through the use of the police drone. The police are also checking wooded areas, including Laughton Woods and the surrounding countryside.
The force initially appealed to the public for help at 9.31pm on Wednesday, January 15. They said that Penny may be travelling in a red Audi TT with the registration B8 NAM.

The 50-year-old has been described as being around 5ft 8ins tall, with blonde, shoulder length hair, hazel eyes, and pierced ears. She may also be smoking cigarettes.
In an update issued on Thursday, January 16, police said they were still searching for Penny. A spokesperson said: "We are still asking for help to find Penny, who has not been seen since 8.30pm on Tuesday (January 14).
"Officers are carrying out searches of the local area including by foot, vehicle patrol, and using the police drone. This is alongside other enquiries.
"We are checking wooded areas, including Laughton Woods and the surrounding countryside, and ask that anyone who is out walking dogs, or otherwise in the area to get in touch with us if they see Penny or spot her red Audi TT, which has a 3D registration number B8 NAM."
