Police recover stolen trailer worth £30k after it was tracked by owner
A stolen trailer worth £30,000 was recovered by police in Darwen after it was tracked by the owner.
The car transporter trailer was stolen from Accrington around 7pm on Tuesday (22 November).
A 22-year-old man from Essex was arrested on suspicion of theft, criminal damage, driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence, driving without insurance and possession of a bladed article.
The driver was taken to a police cell last night and remains there.
A police spokesperson said: "The driver clearly didn’t fancy his chances and stopped of his own accord before the request to stop was made.
"Hats off to the owner of the trailer, who provided live-time tracking information, which allowed our patrols to intercept the trailer whilst it was still en-route to its destination."
