Police release update after A55 crash sparked major delays in Conwy
Police have issued an update following a crash on the A55 in Conwy, which caused major delays this morning (Tuesday). The single vehicle collision, near Junction 23A for Pensarn/Rhyl, saw the westbound carriageway closed for a time, while emergency services worked at the scene.
Traffic Wales put out a series of updates on X warning motorists of delays, with traffic being diverted off, amid delays of three quarters of an hour. One said: "Update #A55 westbound J23A Pensarn/ Rhyl. Road now closed westbound, diverted off westbound J24 Abergele. Delays in the area of approx 45 minutes." A North Wales Police statement said: "We received a call at 9.44am this morning reporting a single vehicle RTC on the A55 westbound at Llanddulas. Officers attended alongside colleagues from WASt and NWFRS and the carriageway was closed whilst the incident was dealt with. The carriageway was reopened at 11.24am and the slip road from Llanddulas will reopen shortly."

There were no further details on anybody injured at the scene. The Welsh Ambulance Service and North Wales Fire and Rescue Service have been approached for information.
