Police release images of five men wanted in connection with Middlesbrough riots
Police have released five more pictures in the hunt for suspects wanted in connection with Middlesbrough's riots this summer.
As part of Cleveland Police ’s investigation – codenamed Operation Acorn – and led by dedicated detectives in the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team (HMET) they are seeking to identify the men. The appeal follows riots this summer after violence erupted at a planned protest.
Teesside Live previously reported protestors stormed Middlesbrough town centre on Sunday, August 4, after a week of violence across the country in protests organised by far-right and anti-immigration groups. Dozens of Teessiders have already appeared in the dock accused of a range of offences with police continuing to search through video footage from the time.

Detective Inspector Richard Hodgkinson said: “Each week we will be issuing photos of people we would like to speak to in connection with the violent disorder that took place in Middlesbrough back in August. I want to take this opportunity to encourage anyone who may know any of the individuals in the images, or if you recognise yourself, to please get in touch. I would also urge anyone who was involved in the disorder and has not yet contacted police to hand themselves in.”
The force said anyone who recognises the people in the photos, should get in touch either by calling 101 quoting reference number 148284 or visiting a website set up for the investigation. Information can also be provided anonymously by calling Crimestoppers on 0800-555111 or via their website.
When reporting information about an individual in the photo, witnesses are asked to quote the number on the image.
