Police Remove Migrant and Homeless Tents in Central Paris
Dozens of tents set up at Place de la Bastille, in central Paris, were removed by police on Tuesday, August 6, in the midst of the Paris Olympic Games.
According to the French charity Right to Accomodation (DAL, or “Droit au Logement” in French), the people who set up the tents were invited to do so by the charity and were supposed by the NGO Utopia 56.
DAL said the police chief informed the charity of the “intention to make an arrest prohibiting this wild facility.”
