Police update after reports of 'attempted abduction' of girl, 10, in Hull
Police say "no offences have been committed" following an "extensive" investigation into reports of an 'attempted abduction' in Hull last week.
On Friday, January 31, Humberside Police said they had received reports that a 10-year-old girl was "approached by a man" who "grabbed hold of her arm" while she was walking along Courtpark Road, in Orchard Park, shortly before 10am. The girl was said to have been heading to school when the man began asking her questions about where she lived and what her name was.
However, police say there has since been a "thorough investigation" and "are now able to confirm that no offences have been committed".

Detective Inspector Jeffs, from the force's Protecting Vulnerable People Unit, said: “Since we received the report on Friday, specialist officers have been following extensive lines of enquiry in and around the area, including reviewing CCTV footage, conducting house-to-house enquiries, and speaking to the local schools.
“After a thorough investigation, and on detailed review and analysis of CCTV that covered the area where the incident was reported to have occurred, I would like to reassure the local community there is no evidence of a man matching the description and no evidence of a criminal offence having been committed.
“I would also like to thank those who responded to the previous report, and for their ongoing support.
“Whilst there are no ongoing concerns arising from this report, if anyone does have any local concerns, please speak to our officers when you see them out and about or call our non-emergency number 101.”
