Police Rescue Driver From Burning Vehicle in New Jersey

Police rescued a man from a burning vehicle in Ridgefield Park, New Jersey, on July 2, with bodycam footage showing the dramatic intervention.

In a statement sent to Storyful, police said they were called to a vehicle fire on 67 Winant Avenue at around 2 am. A man identified as Chris Vagnone, 54, from Fort Lee was trapped in a Honda and unable to exit due to an electrical issue. Police Sgt Nicholas Triano, Patrolman Anthony D’Elia and Patrolman Nicholas D’Alto arrived at the scene and began to douse the flames with fire extinguishers to allow them get close enough to pull Vagnone out.

They administered first aid to Vagnone, who suffered minor burns, local news said.
