Police hunting for vulnerable missing 20-year-old woman find body in woods
Police searching for a vulnerable woman who disappeared three days ago have found a body in nearby woods.
Amy Springer, 20, was reported missing on Friday from her home in Hove, East Sussex.
At the time Sussex Police made an urgent appeal for the "vulnerable" 20-year-old, saying her disappearance was "out of character".
On Sunday they said officers who searched woodland near Portslade Cricket Club in Benfield Valley had found a body that they believe to be Amy.
The force said there were no suspicious circumstances.
Amy's next of kin had been informed, the force added, and enquiries are continuing at the coroner's office.
An area of Benfield Valley was cordoned off on Sunday afternoon, while several police cars were seen at a Sainsbury's car park next to the recreation ground where the body was found.
A Sussex Police spokesperson said: "Very sad to report body found by officers in Portslade this morning believed to be that of Amy Springer. She had been missing since Friday.
"Although formal identification is yet to take place the body is very sadly believed to be that of Amy and her next of kin have been informed.
"There are no suspicious circumstances and the coroner's officer is continuing enquiries."
