Police shut down £300K drugs den in Edgbaston - with cannabis plants 'now destroyed'
Police uncovered a £300,000 drugs den during a raid in a Birmingham street, it has been revealed. Officers busted the cannabis factory in Edgbaston as they carried out a drugs warrant.
They discovered as many as 300 plants - with a street value of around £1,000 each - inside the property off Manor Road North. The force targeted the address at around 8am on Friday, November 29.
Now, the plants have already been destroyed by the force. Enquiries into the cannabis farm are ongoing, with no arrests yet made in connection with the crime.

A statement from West Midlands Police read: "We discovered up to £300,000 worth of cannabis plants after executing a drugs warrant in Edgbaston. Officers from our new proactive crime team Taurus – working alongside the neighbourhood team - acted on information to raid an address.
"We found up to 300 plants at the property off Manor Road North at around 8am yesterday (29 November) and they have now been destroyed. Our enquiries around the drugs den are continuing. Drugs not only ruin lives, but fuel further crime. We take regular action to shut down drug factories and target suppliers and dealers."
