Police statement as man found dead at North Staffordshire beauty spot

Police have ruled out any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death of a man at a North Staffordshire beauty spot. Officers, paramedics and firefighters were called out to Bathpool Park, in Kidsgrove, yesterday afternoon.

Witnesses spotted 'four police cars and forensics officers' at the scene. As reported by StokeonTrentLive, paramedics say that sadly nothing could be done to save the patient.

Today and Staffordshire Police have confirmed they are not treating the death as suspicious. The alarm had been raised at around 1.20pm yesterday.

A force spokesman said: "We were called to Bathpool Park, on Boathorse Road, following reports of a sudden death. Officers went to the scene alongside paramedics from West Midlands Ambulance Service and Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service. Sadly, a man was found dead. His death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for HM Coroner."

An ambulance service spokesperson said: "We were called by the police to Bathpool Park. A paramedic officer and two ambulances attended the scene. Sadly, nothing could be done to save a man who was confirmed deceased on scene by ambulance staff."
