Police find stolen cars in South Yorkshire operation
Stolen cars have been recovered in South Yorkshire following a police day of action in the area.
South Yorkshire Police say that on Tuesday, September 24, neighbourhood policing officers and partners from the City of Doncaster Council and St Leger Homes took part in an operation to tackle crime in the town of Thorne. This also resulted in the recovery of stolen cars.
Working alongside Humberside Police, Doncaster East Neighbourhood Policing Team managed to find and recover a car which had been stolen in Goole, East Yorkshire. It was recovered from Thorne during the early hours of September 24.
It was also found along with a second car stolen in a linked burglary in Haxey, Isle of Axholme.
Three people, who had caused repeated anti-social behaviour in Thorne, were handed community protection notices (CPNs), which barred them from sitting or loitering in Thorne Town Centre and Thorne Retail Park in a manner likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress.
They were also banned from asking members of the public and having in their possession any container for money or goods.
As part of the police activities, they also issued a property closure warning notice to a resident of an address in Moorends following information they had received around drug use. Seven knives were also handed into Thorne Police Station as part of the knife amnesty campaign.
Reports of antisocial behaviour were also dealt with by the police and St Leger Homes. They knocked on doors on Fenland Road in Thorne and Barnsley Road in Moorends.

"If you haven't yet joined the scheme, please do as we know that we are stronger and more effective when we collaborate and work together.
"It's important that businesses report all incidents of retail crime to us promptly so that we can investigate thoroughly. The sooner we know, the sooner we can act."
