Police swarm Glasgow city centre street amid ongoing incident near bar

Police have swarmed a Glasgow city centre street amid an ongoing incident.

Emergency services have sealed off Mitchell Street near to Tingle Bar this evening (Tuesday, October 1). The nature of the incident is not currently known.

However, it is understood multiple police vehicles are at the scene and traffic is being blocked. Images from the scene show four emergency vehicles.

An eyewitness told Glasgow Live: “I was walking towards Buchanan Street when three police cars flew by sirens blaring, as I looked down towards the lane there was another one coming the other to block the entrance.

“I couldn’t see what was happening but there was at least four officers heading down the lane after exiting the cars”

Police Scotland has been contacted for comment.
