Police swarm Stoke-on-Trent street as car's occupants turn 'disruptive'

Multiple police cars were sent to a Stoke-on-Trent street after the occupants of a car became 'disruptive'. Officers pulled over a Nissan Qashqai in Victoria Road, Fenton, in the early hours after receiving a tip-off.

But when they they tried to search the vehicle, they were met with opposition. This led to Staffordshire Police asking for back up with eye-witnesses saying eight marked cars were parked in the road as the drama unfolded at 3.45am last Thursday (September 19).

However, the force has now confirmed nothing was found during the search and no arrests were made.

A Staffordshire Police spokesman said: "Acting on intelligence, officers stopped and searched a Nissan Qashqai on Victoria Road, Fenton, just before 3.45am on Thursday 19 September.

"When the occupants of the vehicle became obstructive, additional vehicles that were in the area attended the scene. Nothing was found following the search. Officers then left the area."
