Missing Family Of Seven May Have Gone To Turkey

Police are trying to trace a family of seven from Bradford who are believed to have travelled to Turkey.

Officers have appealed for information on the whereabouts of Imran Ameen, 39, his wife Farzana Ameen, 40, and their five children who are aged between five and 15 years old.

West Yorkshire Police said their "primary concern" was for the safety and welfare of the young children and the safe return of the family.

They were all last seen on 5 October and were reported missing to officers earlier on Tuesday.

Police are working with relatives in the UK and Turkish authorities to try to find the family, whose current whereabouts are unknown.

Assistant Chief Constable Russ Foster said: "We would urge anyone with information about the family's whereabouts to come forward and speak to police so the family can safely return to the UK.

"Any piece of information, no matter how small, could help the UK or overseas authorities to locate the family so that they can be safely returned home to their loved ones."

Anyone with information should call West Yorkshire Police on 101.

Earlier this year, Khadija Dawood, 30, Sugra Dawood, 34, and Zohra Dawood, 33, also from Bradford, went missing after going on an Islamic pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia along with their nine children.

It is believed they entered Syria to join the Islamic State militant group.

Last weekend, Turkey was rocked by two almost simultaneous bombings in the capital Ankara which killed almost 100 people.

Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said IS was the main focus of the investigation into Saturday's attack.
