Police urge call 999 as Birmingham man wanted over 'threatening messages'

Police have launched an appeal for information as they try to track down a wanted man. Richard Trigg is wanted in connection with sending threatening messages, West Midlands Police says.

The force issued a mugshot of the 33-year-old to their social media as they urged people to "call 999." Members of the public were told to dial the emergency number if they know where he might be.

The appeal was shared to find Trigg, who is from Birmingham, on Wednesday afternoon, January 29. Officers say they are currently "looking for" him.

A specific crime reference number was given to member of the public to quote to police when reporting sightings. The appeal appeared on Birmingham's police Facebook page alongside his mugshot photo.

The short post, which was shared at 1pm, read: "We're looking for Richard Trigg. The 33-year-old, from Birmingham is wanted in connection with sending threatening messages.

"If you think you know where Trigg is, let us know. Call 999 quoting crime number 20/999866/24 if you know where he is."
