Police Vehicle Avoids Suspected Drunk Driver After Vehicle Veers Into Wrong Lane

A police vehicle encountered a suspected drunk-driver who was on wrong side of road in Milford, Maine, in the early hours of January 6, as seen in dashcam footage published by Old Town Police Department.

An officer, named by police as Brasslett, was driving on the Old Town/Milford bridge when a vehicle veered into her lane of travel. She was captured in dashcam footage briefly moving into the opposite lane to avoid a head-on collision.

Old Town Police Department said that after Officer Brasslett caught up to the vehicle to initiate a traffic stop, she undertook sobriety tests and the driver was subsequently arrested for driving under the influence.

The police department said, “As always, we want to remind people of the seriousness of driving while intoxicated. There’s no excuse for it and it’s preventable.” Credit: Old Town Police Department via Storyful
