Police want to speak to man after stolen bank cards used in Melton shop

Police investigating the theft of a purse containing bank cards discovered the cards were later used to purchase items at a shop. The purse was stolen on Thursday, October 17, from a premises in Bowling Green, in Melton.

Later that day, a number of items were purchased at a shop in Sage Cross Street in the town using the stolen cards. Now Leicestershire Police has released a still from CCTV footage and said officers would like to speak to the man pictured in it.

The force said in a statement today (Wednesday, November 27): "Officers have released a CCTV image of a man they wish to identify and trace after stolen bank cards were used to purchase items in a shop in Sage Cross Street, Melton.

"A purse containing bank cards was stolen from premises in Bowling Green on October 17 and subsequently used to purchase goods in a shop. Anyone who recognises the man in the image or has any suspicions about who he may be is asked to get in touch."
