Police officers were called to the scene of a rave in private woodland this weekend after locals complained about loud music and heavy bass. Officers attended the event at Ladock Woods, just outside of Truro, at just after midnight on Sunday, October 27, issuing warnings about noise and drink-driving to ravers.

Local residents reported a disturbing night, with music and partying continuing after sunrise on Sunday morning. Some said they "couldn't sleep" and criticised the music being played. Some said it went on late into the morning. Video footage taken at the scene shows ravers dancing to loud music and flashing lights as daylight appeared in the sky.

One local said the car park was "rammed" and that revellers had also parked "all up road". They described the situation as "awful". Devon and Cornwall Police officers visited the site twice throughout the night.

Officers warned the revellers about noise levels and driving under the influence ahead of attendee's departures. The rave was finished by mid-afternoon on Sunday, police said, after members of the group had been declared fit to drive.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "Police were called shortly after midnight on Sunday, October 27, following reports of a possible rave at Ladock Woods.

"Officers attended on two occasions and liaised with those present about noise and issued strong words of warning around driving under the influence prior to the group’s departure.

"By mid-Sunday afternoon individuals present had left the site after those driving were declared fit to drive."
