Yahoo News Police warning to anyone visiting Sittingbourne after purse thefts
A number of people have had money or purses stolen after incidents in Sittingbourne. On Friday, November 1, a woman withdrew money from a town centre bank and walked back to her car, which was parked at a supermarket nearby.
As she got into her car, a woman knocked on the window and said there were pins on the floor. When the woman got out to pick them up, a man came over and assisted her with the task.
The victim later realised money had been stolen from her bag while she was distracted. Later the same day another woman alleged cash had been taken from her purse after two women bumped into her whilst in a High Street store.

Two previous purse thefts in the town were reported to Kent Police on Friday, October 11 and Thursday, October 17. The incidents happened in the High Street and The Forum Shopping Centre.
Shoppers are being reminded to stay vigilant following by Kent Police. Swale Inspector Ryan Chase said: ‘As the festive period approaches and shoppers are carrying more cash than usual, we may see more of this type of crime, so it is important to be aware of who is around you when you are out and about. Be particularly alert if a stranger bumps into you, or approaches and asks questions as this may be a distraction to allow them to steal your belongings.
"Ensure your valuables are safely secured and out of sight. If you do have to visit a bank to withdraw money then always ensure you are vigilant. If you have any concerns, ask a friend or family member to accompany you."
