Police warning to UK beachgoers after packages wash up on coast
Police have issued an important warning to beachgoers after packages containing drugs washed up on a stretch of coast popular with UK holidaymakers. Officers said they had received reports of the packages washing up along the shoreline in south east Cornwall.
The packages have been found on the coastline throughout the weekend of Saturday, October 26 and Sunday, October 27. Anyone who discovers one is being urged not to pick it up or touch it by Devon and Cornwall Police.
Police are currently collecting the bags for examination. Anyone who finds one is being urged to contact the authorities immediately on 999 to ensure they can be collected safely.

A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson said: "We were notified on Saturday 26 October and Sunday 27 October to reports of packages containing suspected drugs having washed up along shoreline in south east Cornwall. Officers attended and the packages have been collected for examination.
"Investigations are currently ongoing and you may see an increased presence around the coast. If you find a suspect package please do not pick it up, but call police on 999."
