This is how we rated the Cardiff City players in the 2-0 defeat by Leeds United

Jak Alnwick 8 (star man)

Probably Cardiff's best player. Made a flurry of top saves to keep the score down, including a big one-on-one chance for Largie Ramazani. Also saved Pascal Struijk's spot-kick.

Perry Ng 4

Booked for a big lunge on Wilfried Gnonto in the first half and Leeds played in behind him a couple of times.

Calum Chambers 6

Put in a few decent tackles and gave as good as he got in the air. Gave the ball away late on for Joel Piroe's goal.

Will Fish 7

Pick of the bunch at the back on his first start. Cut out crosses and put in one or two big challenges. One of the few to come out with credit.

Joel Bagan 4

Sent off after 23 minutes for stopping a goalscoring opportunity for Gnonto. Put Cardiff right behind the eight ball.

Callum O'Dowda 4

Tried to provide an outlet on the left as a wing-back but had to slot in on the left of a four after Bagan's sending off. Had to defend from then on, really. Conceded the penalty after tripping up Jayden Bogle.

Manolis Siopis 4

Gave the ball away too often in the first half and Leeds pinged the ball around him in the middle.

Joe Ralls 5

Didn't have the opportunity to get involved in the attack as it was all hands to the pump defensively. A tough ask.

Ollie Tanner 4

Was thwarted a number of times by Junior Firpo. Nothing really came off for him.

Rubin Colwill 5

Ploughed a lone furrow on that left-hand side for much of the game. Had one free-kick from 30 yards well saved.

Wilfried Kanga 4

Lost pretty much every header and must have touched the ball a handful of times. It's a tough ask, of course, but didn't do anything. Hooked at half time.

Subs

Jamilu Collins (Kanga 46) 4 - Hit a few errant long balls, but defended OK.

Anwar El Ghazi (Tanner 59) 4 - Had one shot saved late on immediately after Cardiff conceded their second.

Alex Robertson (Ralls 59) 4 - Tidy enough when he had the ball, but just never had it.

Cian Ashford (Siopis 79) NA

Chris Willock (O'Dowda 79) NA
