Pope Prays for Victims of War in Mosul Amid Ruins of Churches Destroyed by Islamic State

Pope Francis held a prayer for the victims of war in Iraq and the Middle East on March 7 amid the ruins of churches in Mosul that have been destroyed by Isis.

The event was held at Hosh al-Bieaa near the rubble of Al-Tahera Syriac Catholic Church, which was used as a “tribunal” by Islamist militants.
