Yahoo News Popeyes Has a New Strawberry Cheesecake Pie That Is a Warm, Deep-Fried Dream
Save some room in your stomach after that Popeyes Chicken Sandwich, because the fast food spot has a new dessert that will melt in your mouth. Participating locations are featuring a Strawberry Cheesecake Pie that is too good not to try.
The treat consists of strawberry pie filling, cheesecake, and graham cracker crumbs inside a turnover-style deep-fried crust. The result is a warm, sweet pie that you can eat on the go, because we know there’s no way you can wait until you get home.
According to Chew Boom, the Strawberry Cheesecake Pie is only $1.29. So far, it’s been spotted in Southern California by Peep This Out!, and a YouTube commenter said they tried it at a location in Oklahoma. There’s been no word from Popeyes on the availability or if the dessert will have a nationwide rollout. So don’t get your hopes up too high, and maybe call your closest location before you make the drive over there. The last thing we need are tears at the drive-thru.
If you ask us, this pie sounds even better than the Strawberry ‘n Cream Cheese Pie that Popeyes added to the menu for a limited time in 2013. While they look similar, we have high hopes that the added graham cracker crumbs and actual cheesecake element will make this even better!
