A popular Indian restaurant in Cambridge has opened its second location with hopes to continue expanding further out into the county. The Tiffin Truck, which first arrived in the city centre in 2017, has a new restaurant located in Orchard Park.

The manager of the Tiffin Truck, Jegan Devadoss, 38, explained how the new location will help make the restaurant more accessible to more people in the area. He said: "We had a lot of customers who wanted to try our food but were staying far away or had issues with parking in the city centre so now we've opened an outlet in Orchard Park, which provides the same flavours and almost the same menu but we have more facilities."

The restaurant will be familiar to those who have already visited the Regent Street site, as it will be offering the same menu. The Orchard Park site will also soon be introducing the breakfast menu to its restaurant.

The Tiffin Truck describes itself as being an "Indian restaurant which has been blended with the English palate". The menu features a range of dishes including a crispy kale chaat, which is layered with chickpeas and yogurt, and crackling ladies finger, which is spicy batter-fried crispy okra.

When asked what dish he would recommend to new customers, Mr Devadoss said: "It would definitely have to be the masala dosa, which I would say is very popular and almost iconic to Indian cuisine. I think it is more suitable for people who do not like very spicy food but they still love food with a lot of flavour and that's exactly what this dish provides.

"It comes with different dips, some of which are spicy and some are not, so it gives you the option and variety to try this very popular Indian dish but also adapt it to your tastes and it's vegan as well."

The restaurant's Mama's pepper chicken curry has also proven popular with visitors. Mr Devadoss said this dish goes well with peshwari naan or malabar paratha.

The new restaurant has already received a lot of positive feedback from customers. Mr Devadoss said: "We are really happy and we thank our patrons. They have really supported us and we've gotten a lot of emails saying they really love the food."

The Tiffin Truck has hopes to open even more locations across Cambridgeshire and is currently finalising some of these plans.

The new Tiffin Truck restaurant can be found at Orchard Park in Unwin Square, Cambridge. The restaurant is currently open everyday from 12pm to 10.30pm.
