A much-loved ITV News presenter is to return to screens after a bout of illness. ITV Central weatherman Des Coleman is to return to work after an illness that's kept him off screens for two months.

A familiar face at tea-time, Des is known for his high energy and warmth on camera, and is a big hit with ITV viewers. On top of being the weatherman for ITV News Central and Good Morning Britain, the former EastEnders star also performs in a singing group.

In a message recorded today, May 29, Des thanked everyone who has sent him 'get well soon' messages, and revealed he has been "quite poorly". He added the influx of well-wishes has been "quite humbling" and confirmed he will return to ITV Central from tomorrow, May 30.
