Regular shoppers at the Metrocentre have been given some serious food for thought, with the opening of a new restaurant from one of the most popular Chinese haunts in Newcastle.

Over the last decade, the dining options inside the famous Gateshead shopping mall have increased significantly, with big international brands like Wagamama, Five Guys, Popeye's and Slim Chickens all opening there. And now there's a new string to the Metrocentre's culinary bow, with the launch of YoYo Noodle; already an established favourite over the water in Newcastle.

YoYo's Grainger Street base has cemented itself as a popular calling point for any city centre workers after a lunchtime or post work treat, anyone wanting a quick catch up with friends over some hearty Chinese food or those in need of some grub either after or during a night on the town.

The YoYo menu is packed full of many different options for diners to choose from; starting with what kind of noodle they'd like in their box and then moving onto the choice of meat or vegetarian alternative, sauce and any added vegetables; before it is then cooked right in front of you in a huge wok.

As well as pick your own noodle boxes, there are also a number of set menu options too, with a range of drinks available too.

Delighted to be welcoming YoYo to their patch, Metrocentre bosses broke news of its new addition opening up for business with a post on Facebook, which read: "You've waited long enough! YoYo Noodle is now open! Located in Upper Blue Mall, the restaurant promises to deliver fresh, fast, and noodlicious dishes"

The excited reactions to the news quickly came flooding in, with one shopper replying: "Eeeeeeeeekkkkk. Can't wait to try it" as another wrote: "Cannot wait to visit." There have also some early reviews left from customers who wasted no time in getting themselves along,. including one who reported back: "ts delicious we had it last night it was definitely enough food i had egg fried rice and prawns and teriyaki sauce and my partner had noodles and duck in teriyaki sauce and we got a portion of spring rolls definitely recommended"
