Popular Newton Mearns Italian restaurant wins top award in national competition

A go-to Italian restaurant in East Renfrewshire has won a top national award during a glitzy event last night (Monday, August 26).

Nonna Gina's has been a popular spot for food lovers in Newton Mearns, providing delicious home made dishes straight from the mind of Gina herself, who opened a number of patisseries and restaurants across Glasgow.

The family run business has now been recognised at the best Italian establishment in the country by the Food Awards Scotland.

In a post on Facebook the eatery wrote: "Winners, Best Italian Establishment - 2024.

"Thank you for all your votes."

The announcement has received 160 reactions on social media so far, with delighted customers flocking to the comments.

One said: "Well done everyone! Well deserved."
