Popular Nottingham city centre bar wants to stay open until 5am

A popular bar in Nottingham city centre has applied to stay open until 5am. Mojo, on Thurland Street, is currently allowed to stay open until 4am.

Owners Voodoo Doll Limited submitted the notice to Nottingham City Council on June 4. It proposes an extension for regulated entertainment on Friday and Saturday from 7pm to 5am the following morning.

The hours for late-night refreshment will also be extended on Friday and Saturday, from 11pm to 4am to 11pm to 5am. The opening hours on Friday and Saturday are to be amended from 7pm to 4.30am to 7pm to 5.30am.

Objections or supportive messages can in writing to the city council at any time up to July 2. The company owns a number of Mojo bars across the UK, with the brand originating in Leeds in 1996.

Other bars are located in Manchester, Harrogate, Sheffield, and Newcastle. The company's website says the hours have already been amended. The bar is also open Sunday to Thursday between 5pm and 4am.
