Popular pizza restaurant and cafe announces closure with 'deep sadness'
A popular Peterborough pizza restaurant and cafe has announced its closure to customers with 'deep sadness'. The Pizza Parlour and Music Cafe, on Cowgate, confirmed the news in a statement earlier this week.
The parlour first opened in September 2016 and prided itself on being "Italian-owned and run". It was also known for being the only city centre restaurant serving pizzas from a wood-fired oven and offered customers a feel-good sixties retro music vibe from the 1960s.
It was also well-loved in the local area, with praise on TripAdvisor for its "fantastic authentic pizza" and "outstanding service". However, the restaurant has now shut its doors for good.

A statement from the restaurant said: "It is with deep sadness that we have made the difficult decision to permanently close The Pizza Parlour Peterborough. We've had a fantastic run over the last 8 years, welcoming people from near and far to our family-run Italian restaurant.
"We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has made our time here so memorable. Best wishes, Peter & the team x".
Many customers on Facebook expressed shock and disappointment over the restaurant's sudden closure. One person said: "Great shame. Always a popular location with a great buzz", while another commented: "We have had so many great lunches and nights there, you will be really missed in Peterborough."
