Popular South London pub reopens after extensive six-figure refurbishment
A popular South London pub has just reopened its doors following a six-figure renovation. The Bishop, located in East Dulwich, closed at the start of October for an extensive refurbishment.
Over the last month, the pub upgraded many of its facilities, while preserving its charm. The venue also spruced up its beer garden, making it the perfect cosy spot for winter evenings.
Isobel Mills, General Manager, said: "We’re excited to re-open The Bishop with a beautiful new look for the winter season. We’ve worked hard to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere, and we look forward to greeting our regulars and new guests alike.

"Don’t miss our relaunch party on the 14th November, with food and drink samples and live music to celebrate the new Bishop." As well as structural improvements, the establishment has expanded its range of food and drinks.
Led by Head Chef Martin Scerbak, the Bishop's new menu redefines traditional pub dishes by combining traditional flavours with innovative pairings. He stated: "We wanted to create a menu that resonates with the community while also pushing the boundaries of what people expect from pub food.
"Each dish has been thoughtfully designed to bring an element of surprise and to showcase fresh, vibrant ingredients in a new light." Highlights include the Ssamjang Pulled Mushroom, served on sourdough crumpet with spring onion and coriander, and the Roasted Squash and Chickpea Salad, accompanied by charred onions, superstraccia, and a puy lentil dressing.
The drinks offering has also been reimagined, featuring twists on classic favourites like the Honey Espresso Martini, Orange & Ginger Martini and Aperol & Rhubarb Spritz. Visitors can as well enjoy a selection of lagers, wines, ciders, and spirits.
The Bishop is located at 25-27 Lordship Lane, London SE22 8EW.
