Port Grain Silos Collapse on Anniversary of Beirut Explosion

Another section of Beirut’s iconic grain silos collapsed on August 4 during a demonstration marking the second anniversary of the deadly port explosion of 2020.

Video filmed by @Akhbaralsaha shows a plume of smoke rising from the port area.

Video from the Lebanese capital showed the silos crumbling. Protesters took to the streets earlier in the day, two years after the devastating blast that killed more than 200 people.

The collapse follows an earlier crumbling of the remaining silos on July 31. Credit: @Akhbaralsaha via Storyful
