Posh Shop Mocked For Flogging £10 Painted Logs

A posh interiors shop in London has been mocked for flogging painted logs for £10 a pop.

Sally Bourne Interiors in upmarket Muswell Hill, north London, was selling the lumps of wood for £10 each, £15 for two or £50 for the whole lot.

The store said the logs were left over from their Christmas display, which they decided to sell following interest from customers.

Locals on Twitter seemed less keen to invest however, suggesting that those who chose to purchase a log may not be making the wisest of buys.

Maria Wylie observed: “One of them doesn’t even have any paint on,” while Michaela C just asked: "Why?!”

Nicky saw a business opportunity, saying: “Jeez we’ve got about £3k worth out in our woodshed….#moneytoburn.”

Supermarkettweet thought the log sale had a certain something in common with Harry Enfield’s ‘I saw you coming’ sketch, where his shopkeeper character effortlessly fleeced rich Londoners of their trustfunds.

Sally Bourne Interiors is having the last laugh, however - the logs have now sold out.

Who said a fool and his money can’t be parted?
