5 People Dead After 'Wicked Murderer' Opens Fire at the Molson Coors Brewing Campus, Says Trump

At least five people are dead after a mass shooting at the Molson Coors brewing headquarters in Milwaukee, WI.

On Wednesday afternoon, a 51-year-old man who worked at the large brewery and corporate offices opened fire leaving 5 of his co-workers dead, authorities have confirmed.

At a coronavirus press conference shortly after the shooting, Donald Trump addressed the tragic incident, calling it a “terrible thing.”

“Earlier today a wicked murderer opened fire at a Molson Coors plant, taking the lives of five people,” the president said. “Our hearts break for them and their loved ones. We send our condolences. … It’s a terrible thing, terrible thing. So our hearts go out to the people of Wisconsin, and to the families.”

On Wednesday night, Milwaukee Police Chief Alfonso Morales confirmed during a press conference that five people had died and the shooter, a 51-year-old Milwaukee man, was also dead.

In a letter sent to employees by Molson Coors CEO Gavin Hattersley — who was out of state at the time of the shooting ��� confirmed the gunman was an “active brewery employee.”

“Earlier today we received news of an active shooter on our Milwaukee Brewery campus. The police have since confirmed the shooter, who was an active brewery employee, is now deceased,” the email, which was obtained by PEOPLE, read.

“Unfortunately, I am devastated to share that we lost five other members of our family in this tragic incident. The police are still working to notify their relatives, so I am unable to provide more information at this time,” Hattersley continued.

“There are no words to express the deep sadness many of us are feeling right now. I am on my way to Milwaukee now because in the hours and days ahead, the most important thing is that we support and care for each other.”

Chief Morales said at the press conference that police are still on scene trying to not only piece together what occurred but also make sure all employees from the sprawling campus have been accounted for.

The identities of the victims will not be released until their families have been notified, Morales added.

Police were called to the brewery at approximately 2.08 p.m. local time, and responding officers found the shooter dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, Morales said during the press conference.

Officers then located the adult victims, all of whom worked at the brewery. No other individuals were injured, the chief added.

In his letter to employees, the CEO — who is en route back to Milwaukee — said the office will remain closed for the remainder of the week.

“We’re closing our Milwaukee office for the remainder of the week and the Milwaukee Brewery will remain shut down for the time being as well to ensure our people have time to cope with today’s events. We ask that everyone be respectful of how our colleagues in Milwaukee are feeling during this incredibly difficult time and do what you can to be supportive,”

Molson Coors is one of the world’s largest producers of beers including Coors and Miller Lite.
