Post Office confirms East Park branch will no longer shut as hundreds sign petition
The proposed closure of East Park Post Office has been cancelled after hundreds of residents signed a petition.
Located within Morrisons on Holderness Road, the Post Office was due to shut permanently on October 2. However, a petition launched on Hull East MP Karl Turner's website to save the Post Office was signed hundreds of times in two days.
The Post Office has now confirmed the branch in Morrisons will stay open. A Post Office spokesperson said: “We would like to announce that East Park Post Office in Hull is no longer closing on 2 October. The operator will continue to provide Post office services as normal.”

Karl Turner MP said: "I am delighted that the Post Office have said that the East Park branch will remain open, thanks to the overwhelming support from our community.
