Postcode checker: How to find out what COVID tier restrictions you're in

A government postcode search checker allows users to find which coronavirus tier their area has been placed into.

All local authorities in England have been assigned a tier from 1 to 3, with 1 having the most relaxed restrictions and 3 the most extreme.

Visitors to the site can type in their postcode and will be directed to a page telling them which set of limitations they are in.

It also links users to more information about the rules for that tier.

A list of areas showing which tier they are in has also been made available online.

Places in Tier 1 have been told to work from home if they can and use the rule of six when meeting people, with spectators allowed back to watch sport at a limited capacity.

Tier 2 will force pubs and restaurants to serve alcohol only with a substantial meal and sport spectator capacity will be reduced.
