Pothole-ridden Ferensway junction set to be repaired next month
A busy Hull city centre junction that has become badly damaged is set to be resurfaced next month.
The junction of Ferensway and Anlaby Road has been frequently mentioned by motorists as an area in particular need of attention, including in a recent survey of Hull Live readers, with numerous potholes having formed at the intersection due to "factors such as weathering and significant traffic volumes".
Hull City Council has now confirmed it is currently organising a contractor to carry out repair works "with the aim of undertaking these at the end of February, weather permitting". The resurfacing is currently being planned to take place over three evenings to limit the impact on motorists as a road closure will be needed.

However, an exception is set to be made allowing traffic to turn onto Anlaby Road from Ferensway in the northbound direction.
Councillor Mark Ieronimo, cabinet portfolio holder for transportation, roads and highways, said: “As a council, we have listened to the views of our residents with regards to this junction and are now taking action by investing in a programme of proactive repairs that will significantly enhance the road surface.
“We apologise for the short-term inconvenience that these works will have, but we are confident that drivers and passengers will support the need for them and will welcome the improvements when they are complete.”
The council will announce the dates and times for the work "once all the necessary permits have been secured".
