Eyewitness footage has captured the moment a power outage followed a flash of light as Tropical Depression 19 brought strong wind and rain to Miami-Dade County, Florida, in the early hours of September 12.
This footage, shared by Joel Franco, shows a bright, blue light before a section of US Route 1 near Pinecrest village goes dark.
The US National Weather Service said the center of the storm was moving across the southern end of the Florida Peninsula early September 12 with “heavy rain, flooding and a tornado or two.” expected to hit the state.
The tropical depression was expected to become a tropical storm as it moved across the Gulf of Mexico later in the day, the weather service said.
