Yahoo News New Power Rangers trailer unites the Megazords!
The epic new Power Rangers trailer is absolutely Morphenomenal.
The Rangers unleash their giant mechanical warriors in the final teaser when they (literally) go head-to-head with some of Rita Repulsa's (Elizabeth Banks) monstrosities over the skies of Angel Grove.
Our teen heroes even get to crack a Marvel joke when Zordon (Bryan Cranston) and Alpha 5 (Bill Hader) reveal the true origin of their newfound powers.
"Are we more Iron Man or Spider-Man," Billy (RJ Cyler) asks - to the delight of his fellow Rangers.
Zordon probably wasn't as amused, seeing as he's a giant floating head who looks exactly like Walter White from Breaking Bad (sans goatee).
Of course, this is a homecoming of sorts for Bryan Cranston, who got his start voice-acting on the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers TV show. The blue ranger - Billy Cranston - is even named after him.
Yet six-time Primetime Emmy Award winner and Academy Award nominee Bryan wasn't originally keen on doing a Power Rangers movie at this point in his esteemed career.
"I thought, 'Power Rangers? It's kind of the (Adam West) Batman television show - Pow! Zing! Whap!'" he recently recalled.
"And I had a phone call with the director and he said, 'Think of it this way… Like Batman came from TV and became a completely different animal in the movies, so too is it here. We're going to take this and revamp it and it's going to be grounded and real'.
"And I thought 'Okay, with that, let me read it.' I read it and went 'You're right', the kids sound like real kids."
We'll see if the gamble pays off when Power Rangers opens in the UK and the US on March 24.
