#TheCry How on Earth are they going to finish off this story in 15 minutes? There’s so much left. They will probably leave it unfinished.

Joanna (Jenna Coleman) opened the episode, as she shared her struggles for control against her husband, Alistair (Ewen Leslie).
As the pace of the final instalment quickened, there were those who began to suspect that Joanna killed Alistair and that she has been on trial for his murder throughout the entire series.
I have a feeling she’s on trial for his murder? 🤷🏻♂️ #thecry #catchup 🤨

In a succession of revelations, Joanna realised that Alistair gave Noah more medicine at the airport, resolving the conundrum of how their baby truly died. Alistair claimed that he forgot he gave the baby more medicine, but this wasn't good enough for Joanna, who was left to believe for a year that the death was her fault.
He gave the baby more medication didn’t he #thecry

Is she going to deliberately crash the car 😱 #TheCry
- Bev (@BevFink) October 21, 2018
Alistair also accidentally revealed that the makeshift burial he showed Joanna earlier in the episode was actually a fake to prevent the police from finding evidence.
In a chilling omission in court, Joanna finally shared that she 'missed a bend' whilst the two were driving and having the devastating final conversation, but her confession was interspersed with shots of her taking her hands off the wheel and purposely crashing the car.
Finally, audiences had their suspicions confirmed as Alistair appeared dead in the Scottish Highlands.
The BBC are making these dramas too easy to guess. The Cry - an absolute gift. Knew it was the dad mid way through episode two #TheCry

To the surprise of fans, Joanna maintained the story the two had crafted over the course of the investigation into their child's disappearance, presenting the picture of a supportive marriage. Still, many people sided with the character, feeling she had been emotionally abused.
#thecry so she's going to continue the lie.😑

Joanna talking to Alistair in the courtroom and reminding herself that she was a good mother is so powerful #TheCry

What a disgusting bloke. Lead his wife to believe she was to blame, planned on buying a house with her where he'd buried the child. Yuck! Why couldn't the murder have been a bit more brutal? 😂 #TheCry
