Pregnant Athlete Wins Taekwondo Gold Medal in Nigeria

A heavily pregnant athlete won a gold medal in taekwondo at Nigeria’s National Sports Festival on April 5.

This footage shows Aminat Idrees, who is eight months pregnant, competing in a non-combat poomsae event in Benin in southern Nigeria.

Organizers said the 26-year-old won gold in the mixed poomsae event, alongside her partner Arowora Roqeeb. She won silver in the female team poomsae category, and bronze in the individual poomsae. Credit: @nsf_edo via Storyful
