Pregnant sheep rescued from rocks after being attacked by dog in Northumberland
A pregnant sheep was rescued from rocks in Northumberland after being attacked by a dog.
Howick Coastguard Rescue Team (CRT) were called to reports members of the public were attempting to enter the water to rescue an injured sheep standing on rocks at around 1pm on Sunday, January 12.
The pregnant sheep had entered the water, just south of Dunstanburgh Castle, after being attacked by a dog, one of four that were off their leads among the livestock.

A spokesperson for Howick CRT said: "The ewe had suffered a nasty bite to the face and had taken to the water for safety.
"(CROs) attended and helped recover the sheep before a local farmer reunited it with its flock. Whilst it's a good idea to always keep dogs on a lead near the coast, it's especially important near livestock.
"Remember, in an emergency at sea or on the coast, or if you think someone may be in difficulty, ALWAYS call the COASTGUARD by dialling 999."
