Premier League table: How the 2019/20 EPL standings look as June 17 return date confirmed
The Premier League season will resume on June 17, after exactly 100 days on pause due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The League had initially decided to press on with the 2019/20 campaign as coronavirus spread in early March, but soon after that call, Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta was diagnosed with Covid-19.
Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi also tested positive for the virus, and the season was duly brought to a swift halt following an emergency meeting between the League and top-flight clubs.
Over two months on, and with government lockdown measures continuing to ease, clubs have resumed contact training and now have a date to work towards.
The good news for table-toppers Liverpool - who need just two wins to lift the title - is the season will be played out. The race for Champions League and Europa League qualification remains very much in the balance, while nobody is down yet - and a fair few sides are not safe from relegation.
As it stands, here is how the table looks as the league gear towards returning with a Manchester City vs Arsenal and Aston Villa vs Sheffield United double-header.
