Pretty Cornwall village set for 120 homes and 'much-needed' link road
Around 120 homes and new link road could be built in one of Cornwall's newest neighbourhoods. The developer will be revealing plans for the new homes, which will be 30 per cent affordable, at a public consultation event later this month.
Developer Gilbert & Goode also has plans to enhance the site east of Station Road in St Newlyn East near Newquay with a new link road, landscaping and additional infrastructure. The site, which will be known as Newlina Meadows, has been identified in the newly made St Newlyn East and Mitchell Neighbourhood Plan for residential development of approximately 120 dwellings.
It was identified by the local community as a preferred residential development site due to its sustainable location directly to the south of existing housing and close to the village centre. Gilbert & Goode says the link road is "much needed" and would reduce the traffic that currently uses the village.

Local residents will have an opportunity to see details of the proposals, speak to members of the project team and provide feedback at a drop-in event at Wesley Hall, The Cross, St Newlyn East, TR8 5LF, from 3pm to 8pm on Thursday, September 26.
Karen Croker, development manager at Gilbert & Goode, said: "Our ethos is to work closely with the community throughout the design process in order to provide the best possible new homes for the village and a great place to live. We are really looking forward to showcasing our plans and meeting with local residents to answer any questions they may have and take their feedback on board.”
