The pretty Essex country park perfect for a walk where Tom Cruise filmed Mission: Impossible
It is pretty well-known that some historical areas in Essex have been used for some big blockbuster movies. For example, Wonder Woman was filmed in Tilbury, and some of The Crown was filmed in Chelmsford.
One Essex country park, however, was the set of a multi-million revenue movie - but no one really knows about it! Tom Cruise and the Mission Impossible crew have used Essex more than once, Including a trip to Basildon.
A set in Brentwood is so serene that you really wouldn't associate it with the thrills of Mission Impossible! Thorndon Country Park in Brentwood provided the location for some exhibiting action shots in 2017 for the filming of Mission: Impossible Fallout.

There is a scene where Cruise drives down a narrow road with a lorry coming head-on - and this mental scene took place in one of Brentwood's most peaceful places. Thorndon Country Park has been named among the loveliest country parks in the UK previously, with its colourful woodlands, birdlife, open parkland and fishing.
Its unique Gruffalo Trail also makes Thorndon Country Park the perfect destination for nature lovers, dog walkers and families alike. Natural but clearly marked paths traverse Thorndon North’s beautiful woodlands and Thorndon South’s open parkland.
The Old Thorndon Pastures that link the South and North offer views as far as London, if autumnal leaves aren't exciting for you. Many walks will pass fenced grazing animals, such as rare breed sheep, goats and cattle, for the animal lovers amongst us.
So, whether you are an action film buff or a nature lover, Thorndon is a brilliant day out. With trails for kids and a lovely cafe and scenery for adults, why not try to find the place where Tom Cruise filmed the scene in Mission: Impossible Fallout?
