A former city centre nightclub is going up for auction tonight - with a minimum guide price of £220,000. The building - on Brunswick Street, in Hanley - used to be the Crystal Lounge.

The first floor has also been used as a shisha lounge - with the building boasting a roof terrace too. It comes as plans were last year lodged with Stoke-on-Trent City Council to convert the building into 13 apartments.

It is now seven years since North Staffordshire Justice Centre stripped the Crystal Lounge of its licence. Staffordshire Police demanded action after discovering 'high drugs activity' and under-age drinking at the venue.

The building did go up for auction with a guide price of £225,000 in October. But the property did not sell and has now been reduced in price ahead of tonight's auction.

The Butters John Bee auction takes place at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel, on Festival Park, from 6.30pm on Monday 25 November.
