Based on the costs of away game travel, season tickets, overall tickets, total ticket and travel, full kits, merchandise, and home shirts, Newcastle comes out on top as the most expensive club to support, with an average yearly price tag of £7,455. The Magpies face the highest total annual ticket costs and travel to away games of all clubs (£6,923) and the highest away game travel costs (£5,440), largely due to the club’s northern location often requiring extensive travel to away matches.

This was followed by Bournemouth (£6,704), Manchester City (6,037), and Manchester United (£6,005), with Liverpool taking fifth place at an average £5,830. With the average annual income in the city being £26,834.76 after tax, this amounts to 22% of a fan's yearly salary.

By contrast, Brentford is the most affordable Premier League club, with a yearly cost of £4,128.53. They are the cheapest club to follow to away games, with total ticket costs and travel to away games per year totalling £3,684.50. This reflects the club’s London location, which reduces travel costs for many away matches throughout the season.
