Primark reveals how to pronounce its name
Have you been pronouncing Primark incorrectly? The clothing shop has revealed how to pronounce its name.
While some claim "Pry-mark" is how Southerners say it, and that people in the North say "Pree-mark", there is one correct way to say it.
Like literally every single person I know pronounces it "Preemark" cause saying "Prymark" makes it sounds like you think it's upmarket

In response to a question on its website, the clothing brand cleared the air.
It wrote: "That's a very good question. We like to use Pr-Eye-Mark"
There are other brands which have even more perhaps counter-intuitive pronounciation.
IKEA is supposed to be pronounced "ee-kay-uh" instead of how most Brits say it.
We use "eye-kee-uh", which is incorrect.
Adidas is also supposed to pronounced A-di-das instead of a-DEE-das. This is because it is named after its founder, Adi Dassler.
The luxury car brand Porsche is also often pronounced incorrectly - it should be pronounced with two syllables: "por-shuh".
